SL001 Advanced Topics in Master Keying (P) L-31 Instructor: Bill Lynk, CRL
Not an introductory course. Topics include: selective master keys, multiplex key systems, principles for Medeco Biaxial, designing systems for small format IC, Corbin Russwin, KABA and Sargent interchangeable cores, The rules for Corbin Russwin master ring and mixing master ring and conventional cylinders, master keying at the control shear line, tips on using incidentals masters in standard progression format, the modified key coding system, and an introduction to positional master keying. Students are invited to bring their keying problems to the class.
Prerequisite: Master Keying Methods and Formats, Master Keying 101 or equivalent.
The information presented will be useful in preparing for PRP Section L-31. ALOA members who register and pay the additional fee may take the PRP test L-31 at the end of class.
