B001 Fundamentals of Locksmithing        Instructor:  Casey Camper, CML, CPS

    The student will be introduced to the basics of the trade and learn the proper use of basic locksmithing tools along with proper terminology.  An overview of pin and disk tumbler locks, key blank identification, key duplicating, key making, lockset functions, hardware finishes, keys by code, and rekeying will be presented.

    At the conclusion of this training program, the student will be able to demonstrate the use of the tools and equipment used in the trade, understand the principles of lock construction and possess the basic knowledge required to identify key blanks, hand file a key, rekey a variety of locks, understand the techniques used in picking and lock bypass techniques, duplicate and cut keys by code.
